Roblox Party is built for people who already know who they want to play with. It keeps the group connected, sends game invites together, and helps members regroup instead of searching for the same server every time.
THE BASICS
What a Roblox Party actually does
A Party is a friend group that can chat and start playing together. An active Party begins when someone starts the co-play session. Roblox then tries to place the group in a server that can fit everyone and keeps a link between members while they move between games.
Party is available on mobile, desktop, and console. A Party can contain up to six users.
STARTING
How to start or join a Party
- Open the Chat tab. In some regions or account layouts, it may still be labeled Party.
- Select Start Party, choose existing friends, and select Start.
- To join an invitation, open the notification and select Join. A missed invitation can also appear inside the active group chat.
Any active Party member can invite another friend until the six-user limit is reached.
PLAYING TOGETHER
How to switch games without losing the group
Open the Party menu, choose Play, select a game, and use Join with Party. Everyone receives an invitation. A member can choose a different game and remain connected to Party chat, but they will no longer be in the same active play session.
A Party cannot force a full server to create space. If a game has a low capacity, one or more people may need to wait or choose another server.
PARTY VS ACTIVE PARTY
The two terms are not identical
Members can send messages and stay connected between sessions.
Members are linked while choosing and joining games together.
You may receive several invitations, but you can only participate in one active Party at a time.
COMMUNICATION
Why Party chat or voice may be missing
Creating or joining a Party is available broadly, but text and voice access depend on age checks, privacy settings, trusted-friend status, age group, and region. Party Voice and chat without filters have stricter eligibility than simply joining the group.
PRIVACY
Check who can add you
Open Settings, then Privacy and content restrictions, Communication, and Party. Roblox lets users limit who can add them to one-to-one or group Parties. Choosing No one disables Party participation and Party Chat.
